Just completed an audit of or cleaning supplies. I was glad to see that we were doing a pretty good job of using green  supplies, but found a few ingredients that were a little sketchy!

I started riding a bunch of bikes yesterday, it is truly surprising how much a great bike makes riding much more enjoyable! Hopefully I will be getting a new bike sometime soon!

Have a lot of days outside of the office coming up. It will be interesting to see how that will influence my commitment to the challenge.

Went shopping for bikes yesterday and realized that my current bike is really hard to ride. This helped provide some context on why riding every day has been such a big hurdle to get over.

I missed my bike home yesterday and I was kinda disappointed, I think riding home every day last week got me in the mood for a daily bike ride. I was not expecting to look forward to biking 5 miles every day.

Had a really nice weekend and spent plenty of time outside. It reminded me that it's hard to want to care about the environment unless you take the time to experience what it has to offer!

I purchased a carbon offset from BEF the other day to offset my holiday flights. I am really excited that I was able to do so since reduce amounts of flights is unlikely since no family lives in nearby states.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Choose a Carbon Offset
A round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?

Unfortunately I am not sure what I can do to reduce the number of flights I take each year (aside from offsetting the carbon). I live far away from friends and family and neither I or they are likely to move closer. I would imagine this is a common issue within the modern world and would be curious to know how other address the issue.

Installed a tank flow diverter in my toilet last night. It works really well and saves lots of water!

Riding home in the rain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be yesterday, it was actually relaxing. I got a waterproof 5 minute sand timer for showers. It has worked really well to keep track of my efforts.
