REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Ana Maldonado 10/23/2018 9:46 AMI try to eat healthy and plenty, whenever I feel I'm getting sick I try to slow down and drink tea or orange juice and it usually helps, I avoid situations that could harm me, I am very into skin care so I do routines to exfoliate, etc. I try to exercise, whether it is going to the gym, or just walking places if I can. I try to be close to nature because I feel it really helps make you feel good -
Ana Maldonado 10/21/2018 11:07 PMThe challenge has made me realize many things I wasn't aware of before, and it encourages me to do stuff I could've done before to reduce waste, save water, eat healthier, etc. It is pretty simple, I feel people just have to get a little help from a challenge like this to start doing what could do a big difference -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Ana Maldonado 10/21/2018 11:03 PMBuy from local farmers, make my own bread to reduce plastic waste, buy bulk foods (pasta, beans, rice, spices, condiments...) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Upgrade My WindowsHow does improving your home's energy efficiency help you better live out your values?
Ana Maldonado 10/18/2018 10:43 PMHelps me realize how easy it is to not waste so much energy when it doesn't need to be wasted, like in the daytime, instead of having windows closed and turning lights on, it's better to just open the curtains and not use the artificial light -
Ana Maldonado 10/18/2018 10:39 PMI've stopped accepting bags from stores, even if I bought a lot of stuff, when I don't have reusable grocery bags I carry my things in the cart and I just place them in my car without bags, even if it looks like I just stole everything -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Ana Maldonado 10/16/2018 8:36 PMThat there are not as many as I thought, they are a little hard to find, but there are some out there, we just have to look for them -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Ana Maldonado 10/10/2018 10:00 PMyou can see the flaws in the sidewalks, like cracks, or you notice how big some signs are -
Ana Maldonado 10/07/2018 6:36 PMI feel really happy when I complete the challenges! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Ana Maldonado 10/06/2018 3:15 PMIt reminds us that even if not everyday is perfect, there is always something to feel good about -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
