I try to eat healthy and plenty, whenever I feel I'm getting sick I try to slow down and drink tea or orange juice and it usually helps, I avoid situations that could harm me, I am very into skin care so I do routines to exfoliate, etc. I try to exercise, whether it is going to the gym, or just walking places if I can. I try to be close to nature because I feel it really helps make you feel good

The challenge has made me realize many things I wasn't aware of before, and it encourages me to do stuff I could've done before to reduce waste, save water, eat healthier, etc. It is pretty simple, I feel people just have to get a little help from a challenge like this to start doing what could do a big difference
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Buy From a Farmers Market
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

    Ana Maldonado's avatar
    Ana Maldonado 10/21/2018 11:03 PM
Buy from local farmers, make my own bread to reduce plastic waste, buy bulk foods (pasta, beans, rice, spices, condiments...)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Upgrade My Windows
How does improving your home's energy efficiency help you better live out your values?

    Ana Maldonado's avatar
    Ana Maldonado 10/18/2018 10:43 PM
Helps me realize how easy it is to not waste so much energy when it doesn't need to be wasted, like in the daytime, instead of having windows closed and turning lights on, it's better to just open the curtains and not use the artificial light

I've stopped accepting bags from stores, even if I bought a lot of stuff, when I don't have reusable grocery bags I carry my things in the cart and I just place them in my car without bags, even if it looks like I just stole everything
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

    Ana Maldonado's avatar
    Ana Maldonado 10/16/2018 8:36 PM
That there are not as many as I thought, they are a little hard to find, but there are some out there, we just have to look for them
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

It reminds us that even if not everyday is perfect, there is always something to feel good about
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
