Saying no to straws is still going strong. I think I will never use another straw in my life ever again to be honest with you.

This was a bit hard to do because Oregon is so cold! But I managed to do it.

I opted to take cooler showers, rather than cold showers. Living more sustainably doesn't mean we have to suffer :)

Just found a journal to write in. I never usually write in journals because I usually forget to keep writing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go for a Daily Walk
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

Today I went for a walk outside. It was the first time I stepped off campus and visited my downtown for a long time. Its been bout a month! I was pleasantly surprised to find chalk art & a small fair going on. I also found the shake and fold movement thats going on currently. Kind of ironic that I found this because Ive never heard of shake and fold until this week! Now I am seeing it everywhere. I actually tried the method out and found out it surprisingly worked well. Lets reduce our footprint one step at a time!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Buy Used Clothes
Do people with economic privilege have a responsibility to consume and own less? How can the concept of "reduce" be presented to those who may be struggling to have enough food, clothes, shelter?

Fast fashion is unsustainable and most of the out of trend clothing from mass producers like forever21 dump their clothing or it ends up in third world countries and is left there like garbage.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully

I normally use straws from my universities Starbucks campus. Instead I can buy a reusable straw or deny straws to reduce my footprint.
