Simplicity
De-Clutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by opting into paperless billing and ending unwanted subscriptions.
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper each day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided.
Waste
Recycle Everything I Can
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 60 minutes researching and recycling all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community.
Waste
Personal Waste Audit
I will collect all of my unrecyclable, non-compostable trash to raise my awareness of how much I send to the landfill.
Create Your Own Action
NW Natural Paper Reduction Challenge
I am partnering with the NW Natural green team to increase the number of things I do paperless to decrease our waste footprint and improve my processes.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

Mary Moerlins 10/02/2018 3:09 PMI'm excited to spend this year's eco challenge reducing my waste footprint, especially around paper and one time use food ware. It's easy to let convenience add up into bad habits and to continue to do the same process the same way. Breaking out of my normal day to day is the goal of this year's challenge.
