Tom Peterson 10/09/2018 4:17 PMI watched a video about meat in the American diet. I'm not giving up meet, but I am reducing how much meet I eat, espeically for lunches. I order veggie sandwiches or veggie burritos now. -

Tom Peterson 10/09/2018 4:16 PMAmerica is a place of luxury. Meat was once a luxury item, but as we've become a rich country, everyone has shifted to living that life. When it comes to food, this means meat for every meal. I've conscientiously made an effort to reduce the amount of meat I eat. I order veggie sandwiches or burritos for lunch, and rarely eat meat for breakfast. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?
Tom Peterson 10/09/2018 4:14 PMLuckily I live in an easy place to get fresh produce. Most of our produce at the store comes from within 90 miles. Sacramento is known as the "Farm to Fork" capital of the US. -

Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
