REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Christopher Selin 10/16/2018 5:06 PMRecently I tried to find a place to put everything away. Eventually those places will fill up and I'll be forced to declutter. Also, when something new ends up in my house if there is a lack of piles to be dealt with later, I will be less likely to hold onto things I don't need. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Foods DietMichael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?
Christopher Selin 10/11/2018 9:17 PMI’ve experimented with a sugar detox and try to only buy whole foods and I do feel a difference when I stick with it. That said, I’m not always on control of my food options and like to try new things so I find it hard to stay on track. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Christopher Selin 10/11/2018 9:13 PMMeat is often seen as a luxury in other countries but is considered a staple in the US. Having more options helps as meatless options are often few and far between which doesn’t bode well for adoption. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Christopher Selin 10/05/2018 3:21 PMSoiled papers like pizza boxes and receipts can go in the compost! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Choose a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
Christopher Selin 10/05/2018 3:05 PMBunch family visits with other occasions like weddings or going on more EV powered local road trips. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do you believe that environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
Christopher Selin 10/03/2018 9:51 PMGreatly, they say you are what you eat but you breathe even more often so it’s important to surround your air and environment with non-toxins. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Christopher Selin 10/03/2018 9:50 PMIt’s a reminder of what’s good in the world, that might slip through the cracks if I don’t make time to consider it.
