    We used to compost all of the time, but the compost pile was in an inconvenient location and we fell out of the habit. Now it is in a better location and we already are seeing much smaller bags going to the waste station.

    What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

    So far, I have used the time to work in the yard. There is plenty of fall cleanup to be done- some of it things I usually don’t get done before snow, and then regret in the spring.

    Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    I have resisted going paperless on certain financial services, but the number of wasted statements from my retirement accounts is maddening. I need to call the office and see what I can do to opt out of more of them.

    Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

    It is a great time for reflection and meditation. I am working of focusing on the concept of forest bathing when I go for a walk in the woods. Taking the dogs along gives another perspective as I watch them explore the world.

    There is a great hiking trail in our neighborhood. It is a good way to keep up with neighbors to invite someone along on a hike.
