REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
Tracy Stimac 10/24/2018 6:18 AMEating more fruits and vegetables is such an easy thing to do once you start regularly buying it to make it readily available. I'm hoping this is something I can keep up long after the challenge. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Tracy Stimac 10/09/2018 9:04 AMWhen I was selecting my challenges I forgot that meatless meals was a daily challenge and selected what I thought was 3 meatless meals per week. In thinking about this again, the most I can go meatless right now is 1-2 meals per day. I still have meat in at least one meal per day for the protein and shared family dinners. Usually once per week our family dinner is meatless but I may add meat to my breakfast or lunch on those days. I will have to focus on introducing more nuts into my diet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Tracy Stimac 10/09/2018 8:57 AMKeeping a group of reusable bags in the trunk of my car makes it easier to remember to take them into the store. -
Tracy Stimac 10/09/2018 8:55 AMI was at a conference for 2 days last week and did not start working on my challenge items. Being out of the office and away from technology kept me from recording those items I did meet. I'm now writing down my challenge items so that I can keep a focus on those daily items.
