Sarah's actions
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 6 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Water
Eco-friendly Gardening
I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Nature
Practice Gratitude for Earth
I will spend 5 minute(s) each day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and the nature surrounding me.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 0 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Community
Express My Support
I will find out who in my state makes decisions that impact the environment and express my support for more environmental actions.
Community
Talk To My Friends and Colleagues
I will research the social or environmental issues in my community that matter to me and tell 1 friends and/or colleagues each day about what I learn.
Energy
Upgrade My Windows
I will upgrade the windows or weatherstripping in my home or office to reduce air leaks and save on energy costs.
Food
Whole Foods Diet
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
Food
Plant an Herb Garden
I will plant an herb garden in my home, workplace, or dorm room.

Sarah Voska 10/11/2018 7:48 PMPlanted some annuals, some native perennials and some vegetables both from seed and from 4-inch to 1 gallon plugs. I was surprised with how well the annuals performed, but it was most exciting when all of a sudden the seeds we had planted and forgot about had sprouted! The best bruchetta all year was made with an entire basil plant sprouted from seed
