REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Advocate for Green SpacesWhat does nature provide for you?
Douglas Young 10/22/2018 3:09 PMNature cleans my air, filters my water, restores my sense of connectedness to the important processes that support life on this earth. Watching birds and small animals forage and play delights the soul and reminds me of the need to protect as much as we can for the health of the vulnerable members of the planet, including us humans. -
Douglas Young 10/16/2018 12:32 PMWow! That sun sure felt good this morning! Nice to have a way to get outside for a while, built in to my daily commute! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Douglas Young 10/16/2018 11:21 AMTalking with my neighbors regularly allows us to share extra food rather than letting it go to waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Douglas Young 10/16/2018 11:17 AMAs I ride through town on a bike, I notice more than from a car. I see and sometimes interact with people and other animals. I notice the weather, the air quality, the sky, the ground--really have to pay attention to the ground. I notice litter, including plastics that may soon wash into the river, and I wish I could pick them up, but I have to get somewhere... so I pick up only one and make sure it gets into a closed disposal... only one, but so much better than no action at all. I feel more active when I bike!
