Lindsey's actions
Waste
Recycle Everything I Can
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 15 minutes researching and recycling all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 1 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Energy
Online Energy Audit
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 3 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Water
Install a Toilet Tank Bank
I will reduce the amount of water flushed and save up to 11 gallons (41 L) of water each day by installing a toilet tank bank.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Nature
Forage for My Food
I will use the 'Learn More' resources below to find where I can forage for my own food locally.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
Lindsey Braithwaite 10/10/2018 3:43 PMI think we are raised to think a complete meal includes protein from meat. It's been difficult for me to change that mindset, I have to be intentional to find an alternate source of protein when prepping for a meal. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Online Energy AuditWhat most interested or surprised you about your own energy footprint?
Lindsey Braithwaite 10/10/2018 3:40 PMI scored higher than I expected (8.6) but I am pretty conscience of turning things off when not in use. I think it helps that I have a newer home with good insulation, windows, and efficient appliances.
