    For much of history, eating meat with a meal was limited to certain days or occasions and was considered a special treat. As our country grew in affluence, Americans began eating more meat, in essence to show that they were well off or successful. Over time, eating meat with nearly every meal has become the norm rather than the exception.

    When I meditate, I try to clear my mind of all thoughts and distractions and just exist in that moment.

    When I walk regularly, I feel more energetic and can focus on work and other tasks better.

    Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

    In addition to setting my thermostat down 2 degrees, I will use the programmable feature to turn the temperature down during the day when no one is home and overnight while everyone is asleep.
