REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems differently?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?
Kim Fagan 10/23/2018 2:22 PMI believe the prices of fresh fruits and vegetables contribute to this. Fresh produce is expensive compared to certain types of meat. Not to mention, Fast food also plays a part in that as well. Americans like things done fast, so fast food is a quick option where food is concerned. Also, you could probably purchase a double cheeseburger for just $2.00, but a bag of apples with run you $3-4.00 -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodDependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspire you the most?
