How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

You get to stop and smell the roses, literally and figuratively.  You notice things you've never seen before - things of beauty, things that could use some attention.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

6 out of 7 days a week, these walks will be with my best friend.  It helps keep us connected in our busy lives.  Day 7... day 7 will be with whichever teenager I can convince to get up off the couch and spending even that 20 minutes with them distraction free, will be priceless.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

Once I begin to actively acknowledge (with specificity) how blessed I am to have the people and opportunities I have in my life, it moves me to be more giving to others.  More giving of my time, my resources, or simply extending more grace.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Meditate
What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

I want to use this time to ignore all the other noise and focus on being still, and quiet, and present.  Once I do that, I find it much easier to list all the things I am grateful for.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go for a Daily Walk
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

I use this time to step away from my desk and just breathe, twice a day for 10 minutes.  It doesn't hurt that I generally take these walks with my best friend. :)
