Diane's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and meat from a local farmers market or food co-op.
Community
Join my Neighborhood Association
I will join my neighborhood association or another local group.
Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 2 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Diane Overstreet 10/17/2018 9:26 AMI purchased a used desk chair from Marketplace, rather than buying a new one. This is a Pottery Barn chair, has a bit of wear on the arm rests, but has character. Now my goal is to purchase only previously used or loved furniture (except for mattresses).

Diane Overstreet 9/27/2018 12:06 PMI consider use and function when ordering public outreach giveaways. I ask myself, "Will this item end up in the trash or will they use it?" We offer the Spin-the-Wheel game, and they select a prize. The prizes include: reusable tote bag, bike bell, tape measure/level, clip on reflector & blinker, reflective ankle/wrist bands, post-it notes, spiral eco-notebooks and string back packs.-
Jennifer Nelson 9/27/2018 2:20 PMYou have the best kind of wheel too - with the replaceable spots for inserts, you can customize this to different themes over and over again.
