    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

I always try to use up all of my food.  Especially any animal products.  I am surprised that people throw away good food, or buy more than they can consume.  That amount of money could be used towards a nice vacation with the family instead.

So true! Food waste is such a real and big problem. If we were efficient and good about eating all of the food we procure, we could reduce our need pretty drastically and contribute less waste while saving much more money.
