    Simplicity Work-Life Balance
Is practicing work-life balance difficult to do? How does it feel when you first begin? How does this feel for you after 21 days?

It can be hard to always be in balance, but it's good to have a reminder to think about it everyday.  There is enough time everyday, but it helps to be mindful about what you spend time on. It's good to be organized and prioritize the things that need to get done, but also balance it with the things you want to do or the things that bring you joy.

It has been a pretty easy transition into fall this year with only a couple rainy days so far. Getting to see the beautiful fall colors and also hear the crunch of leaves is a special treat in Western Oregon. The sunny, clear days make for safer, easier bike commute days too.

Yesterday was my first day using any paper towels since the EcoChallenge started. I was at a conference but forgot to bring my own personal  towel for restroom visits (and I was wearing a dress instead of jeans - which work well for hand drying!) Fortunately the rest of my day was zero waste since I brought my own coffee cup, water bottle, utensils, small napkin and took transit, and the conference provided lunches in Go Boxes!

We have hooks in our bathrooms where I hang a towel so I don't forget :)

Reflecting on gratitude and happiness are frequently part of my meditation. I look forward to the challenge of daily meditation so I can establish a practice rather than just dropping in when I remember.  I use the Stop, Breathe and Think app.  Any other good resources out there?

I created my own waste reduction challenge for this year: ditching paper towels at work.  I have a personal towel that I can use when I wash my hands, but I just need to remember to bring it or else skip the towels all together.

I'm excited to learn what you observe during this challenge. Maybe I can learn some tricks from you for remembering and try this myself in the future!

Thanks for getting the team started! I look forward to reviewing the challenge ideas and finding something new to try again this year.
