Well, I sucked at a couple of my challenges.  But did really well at bringing my lunch every day to work and not generating a single piece of trash at work lunch!  Also saved some dinero.  Certainly made me think about how much trash is generated from "to go" containers.

I went to the Botanical Garden today and it was just beautiful.  I can't wait to visit in the winter and the spring.  So peaceful.

I'm so glad I picked the challenge of practicing gratitude for the Earth.  It reminds me to do something that helps me on so many different levels.  Taking just two minutes to stop and breathe is a real challenge for me but I'm getting to it (most of the time).  I'm going to be so glad that I paid attention to the colors and the wonderful weather this time of year when it's in the middle of a snowstorm in January!

I have learned a lot about the Flint water crisis. Chicago comes up a lot in those conversations too because all our pipes are lead. I'm now paranoid the lead is worse than the city lets on. :-/ Luckily, my friend Colleen who reps Shaklee alerted me to the fact that most water filtration pitchers don't filter lead! What??? That's the main reason I have one.... Shaklee's does though. I know what I want for Christmas.

(this Shaklee endorsement brought to you by ME who was shocked to hear this and thinks everyone else needs to know too! If you wanna know more, I'm happy to connect you with Colleen.)

PS did you know how awesome Flint is? The water thing really overshadows the great things about the city. Maybe I'll make a trip out.

I am much more inclined to learn through podcasts. So I googled “podcast about water justice” having no idea if that would even be a thing. But found this one! Words on water. The first episode is pretty good. https://wordsonwaterwef.com/

I rode my bike to pick up Luey at daycare today. I normally drive but I challenged myself to do different even though it’s not one of my official challenges. Helps that Luey loves riding the bike and it was beautiful outside. And I bought a “new” fall wardrobe for Luey at the thrift store for just $19!!
