driftless angels Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Foods Diet

What we eat is a huge part of our health. Eating well will help our overall health
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

I think ditching plastic water bottles and just using a full time reusable one will help me.

I think that it could but there needs to be more time and land brought into it before it can feed more people

Challenge has been eye opening and I've learned a lot
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

That particular hazardous materials have specific centers where they should be disposed of. I also learned of how out of the way and difficult it is for many rural communities to properly recycle items they can't get rid of in their regular recycles.

As my last time recording my activities for this activity, I hope to have made a difference. Even if the difference was so small that it wont matter until much much later, I hope someday that it just matters.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Now that the weather is cooling down, I just open my window to cool my room down instead of using a fan.

When I went to out for dinner on Sunday I recognized the restaurant gives everyone a straw. It was just second nature for me to use it. I then remembered that I should not be using one. I guess I messed up Sunday.

So far my hardest challenges have been the 5 minute showers. But I have definitely learned now habits such as carrying around a reusable straw and unplugging my electronics when I leave my room.

I've cut back water use showering by turning off the water once all wet, soaping/lathering, then rinsing. Take all the time you want when the water is off!

Going meatless turned into a month without eating meat. I am feeling satisfied without the meat addition to my palate! Food is still good without the meat!
