    There seems to be something primal about noticing the sun rise and set each day.  Some days it is spectacular and others it is mundane (like when it is stormy and you can't really see the sun). It does not take much time, but seems to make a connection to the earth.  This is a goal I hope to turn into a habit.

    I keep my A/C at a steady 80 degrees  so there is less adjusting, keep blinds down during the day while I'm working to insulate, turn off the computer when away, do laundry only with full loads, and use the oven sparingly.

    The daily check in is quick and easy and helps keep me on track.  Hopefully after this challenge my new actions will become habits.

    I am trying to invest more time in what I'm thankful for.  That can be the little things like the smell of freshly cut grass or the big things like my sister being one year post cancer.  Everyday there is something wonderful that happens if we just take the time to stop and think.

    the biggest barrier to using water bottles is the availability of fountains to refill them when you are out.  When traveling overseas, there are plentiful fountains in the community  to refill consumers personal water bottles.   The water is always fresh and cold, so there is no need to purchase water bottles.
