October 24 at 2:46 PMI joined the challenge through my new energy provider Pure Planet. It has been a good experience: I pushed some activities a bit more through the challenges, and tried some new ones. I managed to tackle challenges in six categories, with my three water challenges coming about through the serendipitous arrival at the beginning of the challenge...

October 24 at 8:46 AMPleased with how this Eco Challenge has gone. I haven't had to go particularly out of my way to make improvements, but the impact has really built up after only a month!

October 24 at 4:44 AMWith regard to a potential shortage of water, living in Scotland I would have thought that would not be an issue. However, there was some temporary disruption to water supplies in parts of Glasgow earlier this year, due to fire hydrant vandalism; and some areas in the countryside were also affected by water shortages--possibly due to the lack...

October 24 at 2:10 AMThis has been a fun way of learning to think and of being reminded of what is important. Thanks to my Pure Planet colleagues for the encouragement and for fielding a great team.

October 24 at 2:08 AMI spent some time talking to a parish councillor about a new housing development near to where I live; and about what was being down to protect the natural environment, water sources, and drainage - as well as for people, and their safety. The housing is near to a fast road and there is a local debate about where and how to locate a road...

October 23 at 2:01 AMI have found a local recycling centre in Frome. Who although does specify household waste - I have found that I can drop all my plastic from food at this depot to be recycled.
-
October 22 at 11:10 AMA nice walk into the city centre for a meeting, and a meander on the way home.
-
October 22 at 2:08 AMSpent weekend with an expert on LED lighting and all my lightbulbs are now sorted! do need a new light switch!
-
October 21 at 10:05 AMA nice walk this afternoon with a small group (none of whom I knew) around Glasgow Green and through the People's Palace. I got to share some of my knowlege of things local. One thing I discovered this weekend is that the 'Go for a Daily Walk' challenge doesn't have to be outdoors (there's a separate challenge in the Nature section for that!)....
