The Beverly Apartments Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?

When I find myself without a reusable bag, I try to only accept one that I know we will use again at some point.  This has been a habit for years.

I work out at least 30-45 minutes daily to help clear my mind and it also helps me sleep better at night.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I use my travel mug every morning. I can't remember the last time a bought a coffee in a to go cup and when I do it feels so wrong!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

I have been cutting out sugar for a few weeks now and I feel amazing. I didn't realize how addicted to sugar I was until I removed it from my diet. It was definitely a challenge, but worth it!

I use water to mop my wood floors the majority of the time. Started this years ago on the wood floors in my house.   Infrequently use Beverely supplied ecological cleaning spray for deeper spot cleaning.

Every day, I can sit, look out the large windows and watch the wind blowing the trees, the sun rising, the crows flying back to their night time resting place and the awe inspiring changes in theclouds  and light!  Each season has its own visual harmony!

When shopping, I bring paper sacks and only purchase fresh fruits and vegetables that are not prepackaged.

I have been active in controlling my impact for 10 years. It is wonderful to have this program

I have brought my lunch from home all week, which has created zero food waste (eating leftovers) and lowered my impact of plastic waste by using reusable food containers. Feels good!
