Kristen Lynne 10/21/2018 9:21 AMToday I am grateful for:
1) Connor’s nap time
2) My new toothbrush
3) A supportive partner -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?
Kristen Lynne 10/21/2018 8:08 AMI use an app called “streaks” where I can track all of my goals. One of my goals is to bring a waterbottle to work everyday so that I don’t have to purchase a disposable. I’ve been eating better at this using the app. One of the issues that I have is leaving my water bottle in the office of others. Haven’t figured out a good solution for this yet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Kristen Lynne 10/20/2018 12:06 PMIt is important to be appreciative and thankful to those around you. I believe that we all play our part and that we are all equally important. I oppose patriarchy and skewed ideologies of hierarchy. I hope that staff that I supervise see that I am value everyone and try to minimize hierarchy by respecting the roles of all. -
Kristen Lynne 10/19/2018 11:19 AMToday I am thankful for:
1) Having an amazing supervisor that encouraged me to take a personal day so that I could have me time
2) Dinner In the crockpot
3) Beautiful fall colors -

Kristen Lynne 10/15/2018 12:28 PMThree things I am grateful for today:
1) A home that I am able to heat without fear of paying the electric bill (wasn’t always that way).
2) Reliable transportation
3) A great team of coworkers that support each other to get through a hectic day. -
Kristen Lynne 10/14/2018 7:52 AMStealing the post idea from Bethany!
Three things I am grateful for today:
1) Being able to make breakfast as a family and enjoying quality time
2) Watching Connor grow and learn from his actions. Today, he managed to pull on the cord for the lamp and it fell and hit him in the head. He just stared up at me like “what did I just do”. The lamp broke (it was cheap) but he was okay.
3) Watching Connor watch the snow fall for the first time this season. He doesn’t remember last winter so it is a new phenomenon for him. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Kristen Lynne 10/10/2018 2:28 PMI feel that the media plays a role in the amount of meat that is consumed in North America. Eating meat is conveyed as "masculine" in advertisements and is often associated with healthy, masculine men in the media. Seems like an odd coronation to me.-
Bethany Gangestad-Birk 10/11/2018 12:39 PMI wish I could high five the other comments under this post. Your "nothing more American than shoving hot dogs down your throat to defend America’s honor!" comment made me spit out my coffee, Kristen. -
Kristen Lynne 10/10/2018 7:59 PMEric- Haha, yes, nothing more American than shoving hot dogs down your throat to defend America’s honor!
Also, I meant correlation (not coronation) :) -
Eric Kelly 10/10/2018 6:36 PMGood answer, I said kind of the same thing in my reflection. Think about how we celebrate our country's birthday of July 4th... the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest of course. It is up to hot dog eating champion Joey Chestnut to defend American honor... and its televised by ESPN, lol. Nothing more American than that, haha.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Kristen Lynne 10/08/2018 5:15 PMHaving a child has made exercising more difficult. One of the ways that I continue to meet my goals is by incorporating him in to my workouts. We will go for walks in the stroller. When the weather isn’t cooperating, I hold him while I do squats or we dance in the living room to music. This has helped me maintain some sense of normalcy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Kristen Lynne 10/08/2018 5:12 PMI practice self care by expercising as much as possible and listening to music when I need to relax.
