Peggy La Point 10/22/2018 8:19 AMI`m surprised Beaverton hasn`t done this yet. Portland, Milwaukie, Lake Oswego, Forest Grove and one other already collect food scraps successfully. I hope all cities in the area start doing it soon...

Jeff Wald 10/24/2018 7:56 AMI know I kind of messed up the beginning of this challenge....but now I feel I truly learned some great earth-friendly habits.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?
Jeff Wald 10/22/2018 7:52 AMWe recently moved to a neighborhood that does not collect food compost, so we had to find other ways to do it. I now throw my coffee grounds in the backyard. My wife and collect the food waster and take it to a compost facility. We are also reaching out to the city of Beaverton about implementing composting like Portland does. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteField trip! What a fun way to learn about our impact and consumption! What facility did you visit? What did you learn? Did you take anyone with you?
Jeff Wald 10/22/2018 7:34 AMSince we just moved into an older home, we have had a lot of items to get rid of...from exercise equipment to a toilet to old carpet. It takes a minute to make sure you dispose of each item properly and at the right facility. My wife and I went to the recycling facility in Aloha to get rid of all of the moving materials. -

Jeff Wald 10/15/2018 8:40 AMThis is my first time doing this event and I just realized I wasn't checking in properly. I apologize. I have been doing my challenges, but it won't let me check-in that far back.-
