Mentioned the challenge during team huddle, apparently most people didn't know it was happening. Hope more people sign up.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Avoid refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

I didn't think I was addicted to sugar, in fact quite good with managing sugar intake. However, sometimes i did consume sugary candy and dessert. Making a conscious choice to buy sustainable/organic sugar and reducing intake by once a week is my goal.

I thought my sustainable habits followed leading practices--until I reviewed all the challenges. I have a lot of room for improvement!

    Food Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

By asking more questions and paying attention to labels and signage, I am going to utilize the information I have learned from seafoodwatch.org to purchase sustainable seafood that will aid my health and the planet's.

When I eat and I'm distracted I eat a lot more and sometimes don't even taste it; when i practice mindfulness I eat less and I totally enjoy my meal.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Will be more aware of my spending habits and only buy what I really need. Leaving wants to specific moments

I think creativity has a lot to do with it.  An example would be finding multiple uses for a single tool/object.  Making one piece of furniture do multiple things.  One of my favorite subjects.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Foods Diet
Michael Pollan states that "it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor." What are your thoughts on this?

Already have a healthy life style, but want to be more aware about my food choices

Absolutely agree with this.  Pay up front (when purchasing) or pay at the end (doctor or medical facility).  Michael Pollan is the best at giving out one-liners that are so thought provoking.
