Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

This really raised my awareness. Maybe if enough of us can BE THE CHANGE it will reverse the disturbing trend of not friendly environmental policies happening right now in our government.

I have eliminated using plastic cups & utensils. My son sometimes gets take out food with plastic containers and lids. I save those and reuse them. They are especially nice to reuse to donate a meal.

When walking with my neighbor (always a minimum of 30 minutes), we picked up cans and plastics. We even threw away some trash by a bus stop that had a trash can right beside it.

I wish more of our Green Team had signed up for this challenge. There is so much more to learn and this is full of resources I did not know about. Maybe next year we can really promote it.

We take of those things we are grateful for and put “value” on. I am truly grateful for this beautiful planet we live in. Oregon has some wonderful state parks I am grateful for and want to preserve. I am grateful to have a partner, husband to share outdoor experiences with.

Even while traveling we can still recycle and be conscious about conserving. Our inn has a large tub with jets. It looks tempting to soak in but zi am still taking showers and keeping them short just like I do at hime

I am more self aware of plastics use. My carpool is with my son, who goes to school near where I work. If our schedules don't mesh, one or the other of us take the bus. One less car on the road! Walking and exercising have not only the benefit of a more healthy me, but a connection with my neighbor. This challenge always makes me think twice before reaching for that "little piece" of candy or a soda. Going meatless once a day has been very easy and has synced well with the exercise and refined sugar avoidance. I have lost 15 pounds since the start of this completion!

For my 10 minute educations I read the ZeroWasteHome 100 tips. What I realize is this is a radical change from the way we usual live in the USA. This is a purposed, disciplined and purposeful approach to life. It makes perfect sense, but is a dramatic leap in lifestyle.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I struggle with this because of my work schedule. My son and I are sharing his bus pass, but the bus stop in no where near my house and leave very early. I may have to get over the inconvenience and be more disciplined about getting up early.
