NW Natural Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

The hardest thing was remembering to log in and log my activities.  I did not win the Megamillions Jackpot last night (even though I was trying to invite it into my reality every morning during meditation...lol :) - however the challenge did help me to be a bit more mindful by setting aside time for meditation, watching a sunset/sunrise, etc.

Wish I would've seen this earlier.  I will have to watch for it next year!

I think all these issues involved with this challenge should be important to everyone who lives on this planet

Needs vs wants.  Easier to evaluate when you have college tuition you are paying for.  The eco challenge is helping me think about all decisions. Not just the two or three I've listed here.

Going good.  Thinking about cleaning out the house.  It's tough to go between just wanting to "DUMP" everything, and finding places to recycle and responsibly dispose of things.

Day 2: It all counts. Some mornings, when you're rushing, it can be as simple as throwing a spoon in your bag so you don't have to use a plastic one at work.  Other days it's bring a full lunch packed in reusable containers. This morning was a spoon day.

How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

Think more thoughtfully about how things, especially desk clutter, reduce my quality of life.

I'm excited to spend this year's eco challenge reducing my waste footprint, especially around paper and one time use food ware. It's easy to let convenience add up into bad habits and to continue to do the same process the same way. Breaking out of my normal day to day is the goal of this year's challenge.
