Being in the moment, seeing the waste I am creating. Often when I am doing something I am thinking about the next thing I am going to do, I am not thinking about what impact I am having right now. This challenge helped me stop and think about the paper napkin in front of me and realize I was taking it home with me to add to my daily waste...

I have added many plants to my indoor spaces, cleaning the air. I journal almost daily, have a daily Buddhist practice, attend several yoga classes a week at my neighborhood studio. I also have almost eliminated animal products from my diet eating a mostly plant based diet.I eat mostly unprocessed foods.

I can ride my bike and walk more.

Ikea will except batteries and light-bulbs. This is helpful since one of my challenges was to change out light-bulbs to LED. I also found Plastic Lizard in St Johns. They take plastic caps and lids. Both of these I found through the facebook page I belong to, Zero Waste PDX.

I have maxing out my steps everyday on fit bit by walking and taking breaks at work to get up and walk around.

I need too buy less and start selling and giving more stuff away. I like the ideas of minimalism. Maybe 1 day :)

It was difficult to take part in this challenge, when traveling out of town for a family wedding in the Las Vegas area. Recycling was not always offered, straws appeared in drinks, no paper bag option at grocery stores and coffee was made in disposable cups, (even though I brought and asked to use my own reusable coffee cup). We did our best.

I am  so sad. Learning more and more about  american recycling i realise that i can't recycle as much   as i was used to in my homecountry. I did so much wrong... And contaminated the recycling. I am so shocked that my garbage bin is going straight to the landfill. And it will be there for up to 500years. I really want to reduce  e my waste....

I believe that environmental factors are important for health and well being. Whatever I bring into my home becomes a part of the space I live in. Food, plants, clothing, plastic, paper, furniture, art, cleaning supplies and people all add to the environment. This can be toxic or healing.  Fresh air and light is a source for good health. Plants...

I believe I am making changes to some simple "lazy" habits. For example, I used paper sacks for bulk items instead of the plastic bags offered at my grocery store. I also have purchased mesh bags that I anticipate to use for my next grocery trip. For a  crafter's bazaar that I am helping to organize, I have wild-crafted/scavenged my...
