Minette Visser 10/20/2018 10:42 AMWow. Found a bag of magazines in the back of my closet. Don’t even remember putting them there. Straight to the recycling bin then! I figure if I don’t even recall then they can’t be important to me at all. I had such an amazing time in the garden today. Saw bright purple butterflies and ladybugs and tadpoles. -
Amanda Chastain 10/19/2018 4:20 PMI've been doing good at only buying groceries that I need to get though the next few days rather than stocking up on too much stuff at once, which sometimes leads to me throwing stuff out. -
Amanda Chastain 10/18/2018 11:29 PMSpent some time looking up recipes today and now that I see how easy it is to make sunflower butter, I'm definitely trying it out! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Melinda Hammen 10/11/2018 5:58 PMWell, I haven't planted my indoor herb garden yet but today I brought in all the houseplants that have been enjoying the outdoors all summer. Here's to hoping the night blooming jasmine will begin smelling up the whole house! -

Amanda Chastain 10/07/2018 10:43 AMThe Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative will start the first statewide refillable bottle system in 2020, with hopes to save on energy that is used to normally recycle. They plan to launch a washing center in Portland, where bottles can be used up to 25 times. -
Minette Visser 10/06/2018 1:58 PMI have to admit, going on a walk in the veld with a three-year old and leaving no trace is... challenging. I managed to get him to stay on the paths, and keep the rocks he picked up on the path too. He wanted to pick flowers (he loves making arrangements for me at home) and luckily he understood our explanation of why we said “no”. Saw a lovely sunset from the kopje, all worth it!
