One food choice that I could make that would do more good than harm, is to limit the amount of meat and increase the fruits/veggies I eat. Less meat consumption would lead to less CO2 emissions and increasing plants would mean more planted plants which is good for the earth.

The social determinants of health contribute to my health outcomes. Stress from being low income living pay check to pay check affects my health in so many ways. Stress can metastasize into bigger issues such as high blood pressure(check), obesity(check), heart disease(almost there), diabetes(not quite, but maybe) etc. Being financially stable...

Balance is important to sustainability because what we take away we should give back. The way things are going now, we'll be desolate in no time. We need to put a halt to all the pollution, the garbage, the digging, the cutting, the fishing, etc. to allow the world the time it needs to heal and recenter itself.  I'm afraid we've reached the...

I am hopeful that our culture is starting to shift away from meat being the center of a meal, and focusing more on eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. I do think that our society is very stressed and busy, and this leads us to eat foods that are faster and require less preparation. Often time this ends up with a lot of meat (fast food, for...

Food sovereignty will address the complex agrarian transition of modern food systems by eliminating GMOs and Pest/Insecticides that are being used by corporate food industries to meet the high demands of the growing population. These genetically modified and chemically mutated foods are genetically modifying/mutating and poisoning the people....

This weekend I visited the Oregon Coast and witnessed the moon setting into the ocean - something I didn't even realize was possible! I am trying to celebrate the natural world around me as much as possible. To me, the first step is taking time to step outside and just witness the changes around us.

While learning about renewable energy and audits today, a BlueSky rep knocked on my door. I explained to them that I've received countless notifications about renewable energy but couldn't commit to $5 a month extra on my bill or any other hidden fees. After a long conversation about their other options, I finally signed up to receive 1 BlueSky...

Spent about an hour going for a walk this morning to the coffee shop on 42nd/Columbia and I brought my reusable cup with me! I was able to accomplish three tasks in one: meditated while walking and prevented yet another plastic straw from ending up in the ocean.
