PCC Eco Panthers

PCC  is awesome. The school gave me my first chance at higher ed. I will always be grateful! I chose the challenges I did because I need to focus on everyday ways to make a difference for the environment. Everyone can make a difference! Thank you all for being part of the solution.

So glad I could help the PCC team. I am an alum. PCC was my first college experience when I was 31. I still love PCC! Hope the team makes it to the top in the stats!

I wasn't able to complete this; however I did accomplish 1 task I was putting off...I cleaned the stone pillars at the entrance to our subdivisionthat  and reset one of the stones in the facade that had fallen off in preparation for the installation of a new sign. This was a real challenge for me, and I did get a couple hours of exercise...

Example: I was able to loan out a big folding table to a neighbor yesterday. They didn’t go out and buy a new one adding more plastic into the environment, and it helped me connect with a neighbor I wouldn’t have otherwise. They posted on our community page online. Skipped the bottled water at the grocery and am buying beverages in glass and aluminum cans. Stuff tastes better in glass and it's recyclable. Portland has its own glass plant. 

The impact of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers on us and the natural world has been devastating and continues to impact us in ways that we are just now allowing to come to light. The impacts are most heavily felt in communities of color and low-income and is environmental injustice/environmental racism. 

Today has gone well in terms of each of the challenges, I've eaten 3 of my 4 fruit/veggie servings so I definitely expect to meet the 4 servings at dinner. I also woke up earlier than usual accidentally and so I had plenty of time to meditate in the morning.
